The 2008 GPTX State Convention, Houston, TX
Saturday, June 14th and Sunday, June 15th

Come join in the fun! The GREEN PARTY OF TEXAS Annual State meeting is coming to Houston, Texas.
WHERE: S.H.A.P.E.'s Harambee Center (the administration building) on Almeda Road just south of Alabama Street and north of US 59 in Houston.
WHEN: Breakfast at 9 AM Saturday, finishing that day at 5 PM. Lunch is covered by the registration fee (animal products cost extra). Supper Saturday will be at local restaurants. Our Sunday session is set for 10 AM to 2 PM at the same location. Potluck brunch provided, as for the day before.

Event Fee:
$30 basic registration;
stipend sponsors encouraged.

DIRECTIONS TO THE CONVENTION:

If you're coming from downtown Houston, get on La Branch and go south. After crossing Elgin, turn left at Alabama Street and when you come to Almeda, turn right then the SHAPE/Harmbee Center is on the left immediately before the US59 underpass.

If you're coming from the southwest on US59, take Spur 527 to Alabama, turn right and go to Almeda, turn right and immediately turn left at the facility.

If you're coming from the southeast on I-45 Gulf freeway), you're best bet is to go left at the interchange for US 59 Southwest/288 South. As soon as you get on 59/288, choose 288 by working your way into the left two lanes; after 59 peels off to the right, change lanes to the right and got off at the Southmore/Calumet/Binz exit. Turn right from the feeder road onto Southmore at the light. The next light is Almeda; turn right. Go north about 3/4 mile and the SHAPE Center will be on your right.

The last part of these directions works coming from the I-45 north, I-10, and US 59 north (Eastex). Look for US 59 Southwest/288 South, then take the Southmore exit off of 288.

There are other ways to do it, but let's leave it at this.
