Visitor WelcomeDear Visitor, Would you like to watch Sunday football if only the same two teams played each week? Of course not, and yet in a land which prides it self on the pretext of competition, the political process in Texas is decidedly stacked in favor of the two parties who made the legislation. Our state is regarded as the second hardest state in the U.S. to obtain ballot access – the ability for a party's candidates to appear on the voting ballots so that a vote could be cast for them. In fact, since 2004 all independent candidates for Governor of Texas and political parties seeking ballot access here are believed to have spent more than $100,000 for the organizing effort. If you did not vote in the primaries or participate in another party's convention, your signature can count TWICE! Please sign in at a GP precinct convention on March 11th and then sign our ballot access petition starting March 12. Help give Texans a progressive political choice; one that does not work for corporate self interest but rather on behalf of its citizens and the environment. To get on the ballot, we will need approximately 43,992 valid signatures or 75,000 total petition signatures in just 75 days time. The wave of Green change is all around us. Other countries and states are making drastic cuts in Green house gases and curbing their dependence on dirty fossil fuels. Car owners have spoken and the waiting list for hybrid cars builds. And while “Green” was once a reserved label for adamant environmentalists, it is now seen as the path forward to more responsible stewardship of our resources.
