March Meet and Greet aka Orientation
Travis County residents and surrounding areas who want to participate in electoral politics/reform/direct action
Travis county Green Party bylaws require Active members to first attend an orientation meeting and agree to the party bylaws. To this end we are meeting to orient ourselves to the bylaws in preparation for the upcoming April 2 meeting to consider bylaw revisions, state/national platform and bylaw proposals, resolutions, and select voting delegates to the annual state meeting (ASM) June 6 &7 in Fort Worth. Travis county gets eight delegates based on population.
Because politics happens whether you pay attention or not, be a part of the solution - get involved
As always, if you cannot attend, but want to be involved, be certain to let us know.
Thanks and we look forward to your participation!
Note on Locations: We were going to move to a central library location, but they no longer allow political groups to use their facilities. No one is obligated to purchase anything at any restaurant/cafe we meet at. Since I am new to town, i welcome any suggestions for meeting places that are a) fairly easy to get to from all parts of Austin, b) on transit lines, c) free or low-cost, d) quiet/good acoustics, and e) accommodates 10-20 people.
