Candidates for the 2026 Nomination Conventions

Espoir Ngabo is seeking the Green Party nomination for Congress in District 7. (Houston / Sugar Land area.)
As a child survivor of the Congolese genocide, Espoir Ngabo came to Houston as a refugee at 5 years old. Today he's a IT analyst and community advocate. He's running for Congress to fight for justice and human rights in Texas and around the world.
The Green Party isn't afraid to speak truth to power, and neither is Espoir. The two parties who are running this country are hopelessly dishonest and corrupt.
Espoir is a huge Houston Rockets fan, he never misses a game, including the preseason!

Marlón Durán is seeking the Green Party nomination for Congress in District 28. (McAllen / Laredo area.)
Marlón Durán is running for Congress to end the negligent rule of the two big capitalist parties over our country, and to finally give a voice to the needs of our gente in South Texas! With many years of experience as a community organizer in the RGV, Marlón has demonstrated the strength and integrity to fight for our people, without selling out.
After seeing the Democratic Party step on the will of the voters in election after election, and witnessing the self serving corruption of Democrats like Henry Cuellar, Marlón knew that he had to run as a Green. The Green Party is the only party with ballot access in Texas that doesn't take any corporate PAC money! This guarantees that the Green Party will NEVER betray working people, and always put our interests first.

Greg Stoker is seeking the Green Party nomination for Congress in District 31. (Killeen / Georgetown area.)
Greg Stoker is running for Congressional District TX 31 to get corporations and foreign interests out of local politics that are making life unlivable for the people of the district and the United States as a whole. He will eschew tired old identity and culture war politics and make sure tax money works for working Texans. With a background in military service and activism, Greg knows how to listen to listen to constituents and advocate for their needs.
Greg chose to run with the Green Party because politics as usual, where both establishment parties are owned by the same donor class, is no longer sustainable for most Americans. Both parties need to feel some pressure from a candidate who says no to NO to AIPAC and other special interests.

Eddie Espinoza is seeking the Green Party nomination for Congress in District 34. (Brownsville area.)
Eddie was our 2024 candidate for Railroad Commissioner -- his campaign gained our party ballot access for ten more years!
As a U.S. Army combat veteran and retired elementary school teacher, Eddie has spent a lifetime working in service of our country and our people.
Now he's a Green Party activist and climate activist, still on the same mission.

Alex McMenemy is seeking the Green Party nomination for Congress in District 38. (Northwest Houston.)
Alex McMenemy has had enough of representatives who don't represent us. He will fight to route out political corruption and ensure a bright future for all, not just the wealthy.
Alex believes in the Green Party, and you should too! They are the only party in this race that is committed to fully representing you, your family, your friends, and your loved ones. Other political parties only serve big donors, but the Green Party intends to make sure that ALL politicians are held accountable.
Alex can play 6 instruments, has invented his own sports and games, and rides a custom recumbent bicycle nicknamed 'The Blue Blazer'. If this campaign goes well, the “Blue Blazer” might get a green makeover!

Shehla Faizi is seeking the Green Party nomination for the statewide office of Comptroller.
Shehla Faizi is running for Comptroller to expose the fact that Texan tax dollars are funding overseas wars and enriching billionaires. Shehla has lived in Texas for 13+ years and has seen the increasing financial struggle of average Texans, with no corresponding increase in wages. She wants to change that, to make sure that Texans' taxes and state investments work for the people!
Shehla chose to run as a Green Party candidate because she lost faith in the two party system after seeing how both Republicans and Democrats are so heavily funded by AIPAC money that they are both willing to turn a blind-eye to genocide.
Shehla produces and hosts her own podcast as an outlet for her love for socio-political discussions. In her free time she enjoys reading, illustrating and archery.

Kevin McCormick is seeking the Green Party nomination for the statewide office of Lieutenant Governor.Kevin McCormick is running for Lieutenant Governor to begin the process of changing the state government to an organization which serves the public interest and helps develop and protect a fair and sustainable society from a corporate controlled organization dedicated to serving special interest agendas.

Dr. Julián Villarreal is seeking the Green Party nomination for State Senator District 26. (San Antonio)
Born and raised in San Antonio, Julián is a former Green candidate having garnered over 50,000 votes in the 2020 election for State Senator District 26. A scientist by training, he is a long-time Green volunteer and local organizer. Julián is active in his local community as an advocate for clean energy, environmental justice, and affordability for San Antonio's working class communities. He has served on a number of City of San Antonio community advisory boards.
Julián is running for State Senator for the second time in order to provide voters with a real choice. In a two-way race against the incumbent, Julián is offering something more than the same old status quo. He is putting issues at the forefront that voters rarely see in a race like this, such as how to tackle the worsening climate crisis and environmental pollution, how to deal with rising cost of living, and how to protect our communities from draconian immigration enforcement.

Arshia Papari is seeking the Green Party nomination for State Representative District 49. (Austin.)
Arshia Papari is running to be the next State Representative in Central Austin's HD49, to bring the fighting spirit and backbone the Texas legislature so sorely lacks. Its time for real progress for all Texans, to stand against corruption and exploitation, in Texas!
Arshia is running with the Green Party to break the status quo of our current political system. For too long we have been subjected to the politics of corruption, hate, and harm to our communities. As a Green Party Candidate & as the youngest ever Co-Chair of the Green Party of the US, Arshia stands firmly for a future rooted in grassroots power putting People, Planet, and Peace first!
Arshia is the youngest candidate for a state-level office in Texas. He is an avid youth leader and student at the University of Texas at Austin. In his free time he loves to dance the waltz and two-step, previously competing as a ballroom dancer.

He's running for Tarrant County Judge to bring awareness to these issues and help advance the Green Party agenda.

Green Party of TX Stands with CAIR
We, the Green Party of Texas, stand unequivocally in solidarity with the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and with Muslim communities across our state. Governor Greg Abbott’s proclamation declaring CAIR a “foreign terrorist organization” is a blatant attack on civil rights, religious freedom, and the rule of law. We affirm that CAIR is a legitimate civil rights organization, not a terrorist group. Their decades of work defending religious freedom, immigrant rights, and civil rights for all Americans, Muslim and non-Muslim alike, reflects the best kind of grassroots democratic organizing.
The Green Party of Texas condemns Governor Abbott’s proclamation as a politically motivated, legally baseless, and morally reprehensible attempt to intimidate & stigmatize Muslim communities and their voice in our state. The State of Texas has no legal power to declare any person or organization to be terrorists. Any such declarations from the current administration cannot be relied upon as they are often intended to further US imperialism by providing cover for direct & indirect wars of aggression.
Our party supports CAIR’s decision to take legal action against Governor Abbott & AG Ken Paxton. We call for all Texans of conscience, including faith communities, civil rights organizations, student groups, progressive organizations, and others, to stand united with CAIR in this moment of repression. The Green Party of Texas will always defend religious & civil liberties for all, especially for communities under attack. We uphold the Texas state motto of “Friendship,” and encourage our Governor to reflect on that sentiment which has guided our state forth for so long. As Texans, we understand that y’all means all! Our friendship, southern hospitality, respect, and care ought to be cast unto all our neighbors and fellow Texans, not only those in the political favor of our elected officials.
In this moment, the people of Texas face a choice: will we allow fear, scapegoating, and state repression to define our politics or will we defend inclusion, solidarity, and the civil rights of all our fellow Texans?
We are Texan Greens, united in our pursuit of justice, and we will not allow the politics of fear to silence our neighbors or erase our rights.

Abolish I.C.E.
ICE- Immigration and Customs Enforcement, was founded in 2003.
Now, in the Senate's version of Trump's Budget Bill (HR1), the funding for ICE is being outrageously increased from $3.8 Billion to $48.5 Billion (source: @so.informed). The limitless state power & monopoly of violence exhibited by ICE is a tell-tale sign of a fascist state.
Unlike the Democrats & Republicans who have both weaponized ICE for decades, the Green Party wants ICE abolished.
Yes, abolished, because the kidnapping & detention of randomly profiled men, women, & children must end.
We believe that everyone deserves due process & constitutional protections, regardless of their citizenship status.
We call on all people to engage in grassroots community action such as reporting ICE activity in their area. Check out organizations like Brown Berets, Vecinos Unidos, Houston Leads, El Movimiento, People Over Papers, and other such groups to engage directly.
ICE is state terror, not public safety. Immigrants make America great. Stop the war on immigrants.
Please call your representatives to encourage them to vote against this monstrous allocation of funds to an organization that should be abolished entirely.
